Effects of carbonyl cyanide 3-chlorophenylhydrazone on yeast biophoton emission

Abstract
After discovering that exercises will increase the biophoton emission we conducted an experiment to prove the hypothesis that reactive oxygen species are the source of biophoton emission. After adding the respiratory chain decoupler Carbonyl cyanide 3-chlorophenylhydrazone (CCCP) to yeast, a decrease of the biophoton emissionwas observed. These results were shown in the three experiments of this study. In the last one we observed the dependence between CCCP concentration and biophoton emission decrease. So it was concluded that the ROS produced by the respiratory chain is indeed a source of biophotons.
